Air Canada recently unveiled its newest route, connecting Montréal with Porto, Portugal's enchanting coastal gem. The inaugural flight on June 4, 2025, marked the commencement of a vibrant three-times-weekly seasonal service, set to operate until the peak of the summer in August 2025.

The journey aboard flight AC928, which whisked passengers across the 3,199-mile route from Montréal-Trudeau International Airport to Porto in just under six hours, was a seamless experience. The flight was orchestrated by the airline's reliable Airbus A330-300 aircraft, bearing the registration code C-GXZD and adorned in a unique Star Alliance livery.

Porto stands as Air Canada's second Portuguese destination, complimenting its currently thriving routes from Montréal and Toronto to Lisbon. The airline's fleet of Airbus A330-300s, averaging 18.5 years in age and comprising 20 aircraft, ensures a comfortable journey for all passengers, with a capacity of 297 seats across three classes: 32 in business, 24 in premium economy, and 241 in economy.

Passengers can embark on this memorable voyage leaving Montréal at 21:50 local time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, under flight number AC928, with a blissful arrival in Porto at 09:20 the next day. The return journey, flight AC929, departs Porto at 11:20 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, before landing back in Montréal at 13:45.

Excited about the return to Porto, Air Canada’s Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer enthused, "Porto is our newest Europe route this summer, offering our North American network customers convenient travel options through our Montréal hub." Boasting a rich tapestry of history, culture, and culinary delights, Porto is a gateway to Portugal's northern region, promising a blend of experiences for all travelers.

Eyeing further expansions, Air Canada inaugurated its Montréal-Naples route in May, opening doors to Italy's vibrant city. The airline's summer 2025 lineup also includes revived services from Ottawa to London-Heathrow and the introduction of new routes from Toronto to Prague and Montréal to Edinburgh in Scotland. The skies are bustling with adventure, and Air Canada is eager to welcome passengers onboard to explore these newfound horizons.
