Exciting news for travelers heading between Nigeria and the UK as top carrier Air Peace has just secured approval to launch flights from Abuja to London-Heathrow Airport! This development comes after long-awaited negotiations and lobbying efforts by the airline to gain access to one of the world's busiest airports.
Commencing on October 26, 2025, Air Peace will kick off a four-times-weekly service connecting Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to London-Heathrow. The service will operate during the IATA winter scheduling season and will be facilitated by the carrier's Boeing 777 aircraft, known for their comfort and reliability.
Chairman of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, expressed his gratitude to key figures for their support in making this milestone possible. He mentioned, "On the international scene, daily flights from Lagos to London are going on, so we’ll start from October, and from then on, we will start Abuja to London flights as the British Authority has granted Air Peace access to Heathrow directly."
While the airline had faced challenges in accessing Heathrow slots, efforts to level the playing field have now borne fruit, providing travelers with more options for their journeys. It's a significant win for Air Peace as they continue to expand their route network and offer convenient travel options for passengers.
In parallel, Air Peace is gearing up to launch flights to Guangzhou, China, and Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean, showcasing the airline's commitment to connecting people across continents. With a diverse fleet and a growing list of destinations, Air Peace is making its mark in the aviation industry.
