Pilotcenter.net News is thrilled to report on the latest addition to Air Serbia's fleet - the arrival of their fourth Airbus A330-200 at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport on February 10, 2025. This new aircraft is not just any plane, but an Airbus A330-200 specially adorned with stunning EXPO 2027 Belgrade livery, in anticipation of the upcoming global exhibition in Serbia in two years.

This particular A330-200 is the second in Air Serbia's fleet to boast the EXPO 2027 livery, following its forerunner's introduction in October 2024. Bearing the registration YU-ARE, this aircraft has a history of service with Air Belgium and Etihad Airways, having made its inaugural commercial flight back in 2014. Jiri Marek, Air Serbia's CEO, expresses the significance of this new long-haul aircraft, stating, "Our new aircraft for long-haul flights is an important addition and will contribute to further expanding our network of destinations. As the national airline, we want to offer strong support to the specialised EXPO 2027 exhibition, which will take place in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027, and that is why this aircraft is adorned with that logo."

Marek goes on to say, "We hope that passengers will enjoy the comfort that YU-ARE provides and that their flights to North America and the People’s Republic of China will be enjoyable." According to Air Serbia, it took a total of eight individuals working in two shifts over five consecutive days to apply 270 decorative stickers on the A330, creating the striking EXPO 2027-themed livery.

EXPO, renowned for showcasing tradition, culture, innovation, and science, will focus on the theme "Play for humanity" in 2027. Dušan Borovčanin, CEO of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, describes the significance of having the EXPO 2027 visual identity on the new Air Serbia aircraft, emphasizing Serbia's connection with the world and the unique opportunity for Belgrade to shine on the global stage through this specialized exhibition.

The newest addition to Air Serbia's fleet features 22 business class seats, 240 economy class seats, and is powered by Rolls-Royce engines. This A330-200 is the final one of four to join Air Serbia's current fleet, which includes a mix of A319-100s, A320-200s, ATR 72-200s, ATR 72-600s, and now four A330-200s. This expansion is not only a boon for Air Serbia but also a testament to the airline's commitment to enhancing passenger experiences and connecting Serbia with the global community.
