Air Tahiti, the leading inter-island airline in Polynesia, made waves at the Paris Air Show 2025 by revealing plans to elevate its service to a whole new level. The airline announced that one of its recently ordered ATR72-600 turboprops will sport an exclusive all-business-class configuration, transforming travel between the picturesque islands of the French Polynesian archipelago with a VIP-only experience.
Pilotcenter.net News reports that the aircraft will boast ATR's sophisticated 'ATR HighLine' premium class cabin, designed to offer unparalleled luxury in the skies. This decision comes after Air Tahiti's deal with ATR for four new ATR72-600 aircraft, with deliveries expected to be completed by 2028. One of these aircraft will be outfitted with the prestigious ATR HighLine interior, enhancing the airline's high-end service offerings.
The highlight of this announcement is the official launch of Air Tahiti's distinctive VIP service, set to commence in the second half of 2026. This service will cater to some of the most iconic destinations in the world, including the renowned island of Bora Bora, known as "the Pearl of the Pacific," and Raiatea.
The ATR HighLine series, which offers operators various high-end cabin configurations, will feature an open, executive-style ceiling and 26 individual business-class seats in a 1-by-1 arrangement. According to ATR, the 'ETEREA' business seat, specially crafted for ATR by Geven, will provide exceptional comfort with ample personal space, extended legroom, deep recline, and various amenities tailored for a superior travel experience.
Edouard Wong Fat, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Tahiti, expressed enthusiasm about the airline's new direction, stating, "We are not only renewing our fleet, but we are also launching a whole new travel experience, offering an exceptional service that reflects the natural beauty and unique spirit of our islands."
Alexis Vidal, SVP Commercial of ATR, emphasized the strong partnership between Air Tahiti and ATR, reflecting their joint commitment to connectivity and premium service. He shared his excitement by highlighting that Air Tahiti's premium offering truly captures the essence of the airline's dedication to delivering excellence from the moment passengers step on board.
With the introduction of the new ATR aircraft, Air Tahiti aims to enhance its flight frequency and capacity, providing essential connectivity to the communities in Tahiti and its islands. As the airline embarks on this transformative journey, it solidifies its position as a key player in local development, blending innovation, environmental commitment, and top-notch service delivery.
