"This will not only improve air accessibility and affordability for Territorians, but will make it easier to invest, visit, and conduct business in the Territory," Cahill remarked.
CEO of AirAsia Malaysia, Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, shared his excitement about the launch, highlighting the opportunities it creates for both leisure and business travelers. "With our seamless Fly-Thru services via Kuala Lumpur, Darwin is now more accessible than ever for travelers from key markets within our network," Mazputra stated. The move not only opens up a new gateway to Asia and beyond for Australians but also positions Darwin as a hidden gem for adventure-seeking Malaysians and travelers across Southeast Asia.
AirAsia's decision to invest in Darwin reinforces the region's promising economic future, emphasizing the importance of air connectivity for the territory's growth. This development sets the stage for a more interconnected future, fostering tourism, business, and cultural exchange between Malaysia and Australia.
