airBaltic's Latest Expansion Takes Flight to Reykjavik, Iceland

Pilotcenter.net News is thrilled to announce the launch of a new route by AirBaltic as the carrier's inaugural flight from Tallinn, Estonia, to Reykjavik, Iceland, took off on June 18, 2025. This new route marks AirBaltic's second link to Iceland, in addition to its existing flights to Riga, Latvia. With 22 direct routes operating from Tallinn to various destinations in Europe and beyond, AirBaltic continues to expand its services.

The flight, designated as BT819, departed Tallinn Airport at 00:35 and landed in Reykjavik at 01:08 local time, covering a distance of 1,553 miles in an Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The flights between Tallinn and Reykjavik will run twice weekly, offering both economy and business class cabins. Interestingly, AirBaltic is the first European airline to provide free high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet on all its flights, enhancing the passenger experience.

Mantas Vrubliauskas, VP Network Management at AirBaltic, expressed, "Tallinn is one of AirBaltic's home bases, and we are committed to expanding connectivity for Estonia, offering more convenient travel options for our passengers, and continuing to grow our market share in the country."

Not stopping there, AirBaltic has unveiled plans to introduce three new routes in Europe for the winter season from late October 2025 to late March 2026. These include connections from Riga to Faro, Tallinn to Madeira, and Gran Canaria to Ljubljana. Additionally, the carrier will expand its operations to Dubai with daily flights from Riga and increased capacity from Vilnius.

Operating nearly 130 routes from various Baltic capitals, AirBaltic ensures seamless connectivity across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region. With orders for 50 more Airbus A220-300s, AirBaltic is set to double its fleet in the upcoming years, solidifying its position as a prominent player in the airline industry.
