In exciting news, Latvian airline airBaltic and India’s national airline Air India have come together in a new partnership aiming to enhance travel options between the Baltics and India. The recent signing of a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) during the 81st International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting in New Delhi marks a significant step forward in connectivity between the two regions.

The collaboration will allow both airlines to offer connecting tickets that involve flights operated by each other, creating a seamless travel experience for passengers moving between Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and India. Pauls Cālītis, Interim CEO and COO of airBaltic, expressed optimism about the cooperation, emphasizing the benefits it will bring to both airlines and passengers alike. As observed, there has been a notable uptick in passenger traffic between the Baltics and India, making this partnership all the more timely and promising.

This partnership not only expands the route networks of airBaltic and Air India but also streamlines travel for passengers by providing more flexible and interconnected itineraries across the regions. Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, highlighted the strategic significance of the alliance in strengthening their global network and offering enhanced travel accessibility to and from the Baltics. The Baltics are increasingly becoming a sought-after tourism destination for Indian travelers, and fostering ties with this emerging market aligns with India's expanding trade relationships in the region.

Furthermore, Air India has been proactive in forging codeshare agreements with other airlines, including Icelandair and Air Mauritius. Through these collaborations, passengers can benefit from expanded connectivity, with access to multiple routes connecting India to Europe and destinations in Mauritius, La Réunion, South Africa, and Madagascar. This progressive approach to partnerships underscores Air India's commitment to enhancing the travel experience for passengers while opening up new horizons for travel between diverse regions.
