Avelo Airlines has big news for Connecticut travelers, as they unveil plans to introduce fresh nonstop routes to the state. The carrier's CEO, Andrew Levy, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, stating, "We love Connecticut and are excited to continue expanding our presence here with these five new exclusive destinations."
The airline is set to launch four new nonstop routes from Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) and will also introduce a third international destination from Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL). Avelo Airlines will kick off the new routes in February 2025, offering nonstop service from HVN Airport to Jacksonville, Florida (JAX), Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (DFW), Detroit, Michigan (DTW), and Portland, Maine (PWM).
To accommodate the increased demand, the airline will assign eight aircraft solely for HVN flights, including one Boeing 737 based at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). Additionally, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ) will be added as the airline's third international destination from BDL Airport, with service beginning on February 21, 2025.
This recent expansion brings Avelo's total routes from Connecticut to 39, with 31 departing from HVN Airport and eight from BDL Airport. The move promises Connecticut travelers more options, affordability, and convenience when planning their journeys. Stay tuned for further updates and get ready to explore these exciting new destinations!
