British Airways (BA) is turning a new leaf with its loyalty program, bidding farewell to the British Airways Executive Club and ushering in a fresh era with 'The British Airways Club,' which aims to open up novel avenues for customers to accrue rewards points. This transformative move, unveiled on December 30, 2024, is set to kick off on April 1, 2025. The revamped loyalty program will introduce a pioneering 'Tier Point' system, veering away from the conventional structure of the former British Airways Executive Club.

As part of this innovative program, members can earn Tier Points not only through their flight expenditures but also by indulging in extras like seat selection and additional baggage. What's more, British Airways Holidays will emerge as another realm for snagging these valuable Tier Points. Moreover, a game-changer will roll out as 2025 progresses, where BA American Express Premium Plus Cardholders will stand to pocket up to 2,500 Tier Points simply by using their cards. To jazz things up further, the horizon welcomes more frequent milestone rewards.

In the eloquent words of Colm Lacy, the Chief Commercial Officer at British Airways, "The changes we have announced today underline our continued investment in our loyalty program and in our customers. Based on our Members’ feedback, we’ve built on the changes we’ve already made – including how customers collect Avios and their membership year – in a way that we believe better rewards their loyalty and reflects their changing travel needs."

To ascend the loyalty ladder, members will need to amass 3,500 Tier Points for Bronze, escalating to 7,500 for Silver and 20,000 for Gold status. For the esteemed Gold Guest List, the summit requires 65,000 Tier Points, with a stipulation that at least 52,000 must stem from British Airways-marketed flights, add-ons, or holiday packages. And for those aiming to uphold this elite status, maintaining it calls for gathering an additional 40,000 Tier Points, with 32,000 derived from British Airways-marketed flights, add-ons, or holiday packages. Each pound or dollar spent will translate into one Tier Point in this revamped loyalty program landscape. Get ready to soar to newfound heights with The British Airways Club!
