Pilotcenter.net News Provides Insight into Luxury Airline Beond's Promising First Year
Recently, luxury airline Beond gave the public a glimpse into its successful inaugural year of operations and shared exciting plans for the future in a virtual media event held on November 19, 2024. Co-founder and CEO Tero Taskila spoke at length about the airline's achievements, revealing that over the past year, Beond has flown 8,000 passengers with an impressive 55% load factor.
Taskila highlighted the growing popularity of their route from Milan Malpensa to Male via Dubai, hinting at potential capacity increases in the near future. He also mentioned the positive response to the Zurich-Dubai segment, noting a noticeable uptick in business travelers choosing Beond for its exceptional service offerings.
Emphasizing Beond's commitment to providing "affordable luxury," Taskila expressed satisfaction with the airline's high Net Promoter Score of 68. He attributed this success to the competitive prices and exceptional experience offered to both leisure and business travelers.
Looking ahead, Taskila hinted at potential new destinations on the horizon, mentioning Abu Dhabi and Jeddah as intriguing markets for future expansion. While specific plans remain undisclosed, the airline's ambitions to obtain a second Air Operator Certificate in 2025 in either Saudi Arabia or the UAE signal Beond's commitment to further growth in the Middle East.
With an eye towards the region's emerging luxury travel destinations such as NEOM and Al Ula in Saudi Arabia, Beond aims to diversify its portfolio beyond the Maldives market. Taskila estimates the airline's positive impact on the Maldivian economy, projecting a significant increase as the carrier gears up for expansion.
While Beond's long-term vision includes a fleet of 27 aircraft by 2028, the immediate focus is on acquiring four additional planes in 2025. Taskila noted that the allocation of these aircraft between the airline's potential AOCs remains to be determined. Presently, Beond operates with a fleet comprising a 44-seat A319 and a 68-seat A321.
As Beond charts its course for the future, the airline's strategic growth plans and commitment to delivering unparalleled luxury travel experiences position it as a notable player in the aviation industry. Stay tuned for more updates on Beond's exciting journey ahead!
