BOC Aviation Inks Deal with Turkish Airlines for Six Airbus A321neos

BOC Aviation, the aircraft asset management and leasing arm of the Bank of China, has inked a lease agreement with Turkish Airlines for six brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft. These cutting-edge planes are set to join the carrier's fleet by 2027, thanks to BOC Aviation's outstanding order with Airbus.

Steven Townend, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BOC Aviation, expressed his delight about the deal by stating, "Turkish Airlines is one of our longest-standing customers and this transaction is testimony to the breadth of that relationship." Clearly, there's a strong demand for these state-of-the-art aircraft, which will play a key role in fueling BOC Aviation's growth in the coming years.

Turkish Airlines' Chief Investment & Strategy Officer, Levent Konukcu, also shared his excitement, saying, "We are pleased to enhance our long-standing relationship with BOC Aviation with the addition of these six new Airbus A321neo aircraft." This move aligns perfectly with Turkish Airlines' commitment to providing a modern and efficient travel experience while expanding its route network.

Currently, Turkish Airlines operates a substantial fleet of Airbus A321s for short and medium-haul flights within Turkey, boasting 65 A321s and 66 A321neos with more on order. These A321neos typically seat 190 passengers in a two-class configuration, making them ideal for both business and economy travelers. Additionally, Turkish Cargo, a subsidiary of the airline, operates three A321P2F converted freighters for cargo transport.

With a fleet of 693 owned and managed aircraft leased to airlines worldwide, BOC Aviation continues to be a major player in the aviation leasing industry. Turkish Airlines, on the other hand, operates a fleet of 477 aircraft flying to 349 destinations across the globe. As the airline pursues an aggressive growth strategy, its goal is to become the first major airline to serve every continent on the map.
