In a show of appreciation for their hard work and dedication, eligible employees at Delta Air Lines are in for a sweet treat this coming February 14, 2025. Soon, they will be receiving an average of five weeks’ worth of additional pay, courtesy of the company’s annual profit sharing program. This generous gesture amounts to a whopping $1.4 billion, underlining Delta’s commitment to recognizing the efforts of its workforce.
As Delta CEO Ed Bastian aptly puts it, “Every day, Delta people prove themselves to be difference makers in this industry.” Bastian further expressed his pride in the team's professionalism, teamwork, and pursuit of excellence, citing this year's profit sharing distribution as one of the most substantial in Delta’s history. Over the last decade, Delta has allocated more than $10 billion towards profit sharing, showcasing a firm belief in sharing success as a fundamental value within the organization.
According to Delta’s Chief People Officer, Allison Ausband, this year’s profit sharing payout stands as a testament to the relentless dedication of Delta employees, who understand the significance of upholding safety measures and delivering world-class service. Ausband highlights the pivotal role played by the employees in fostering trust and loyalty among customers, ultimately driving Delta’s success.
Meanwhile, in a parallel tale of commendable profit sharing, Singapore Airlines made headlines for their remarkable bonus allocation. Following a record profit of SG$2.7 Billion ($1.99 Billion) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, the carrier rewarded its staff with an extraordinary eight months’ salary as a bonus. Such actions underscore the industry-wide recognition of the vital role played by employees in achieving and sustaining success.
