easyJet has exciting news for travelers in the UK as they announce the launch of six new routes from several UK airports for the summer of 2025. The budget carrier is also set to boost its UK fleet by adding another A320 family aircraft at its Bristol Airport base, leading to the creation of approximately 400 new jobs.
Pilotcenter.net News revealed easyJet's expansion plans in a recent statement, highlighting that the airline currently serves 21 UK airports with 585 routes to 136 destinations in Europe and North Africa. Among the new services, passengers can look forward to flights from Manchester and Edinburgh airports to Milan-Linate Airport, as well as new routes from Birmingham Airport to Gibraltar and Bordeaux. Additionally, Bristol Airport will see the introduction of flights to Palermo in Italy and Almeria in Spain.
This growth comes as a result of easyJet's approval by the European Commission to operate from Milan-Linate and Rome-Fiumicino airports. The airline is set to open a new base in Rome-Fiumicino on March 30, 2025, complementing its existing bases in Milan-Malpensa and Naples and offering travelers more options when flying to and from Italy.
Operations to Milan-Linate from Manchester and Edinburgh are scheduled to start on March 30, 2025, with frequent flights available throughout the year. Furthermore, easyJet will be increasing flight frequencies from London-Gatwick to Milan-Linate and launching new services from Birmingham to Bordeaux and Gibraltar.
Travelers from Bristol can look forward to new routes to Almeria starting in June 2025, along with a summer service to Palermo. In addition to the new routes, easyJet announced the deployment of a 19th Airbus A320 family aircraft at Bristol Airport, with more aircraft being added at Manchester, Edinburgh, and Birmingham airports in time for the summer of 2025.
Ali Gayward, easyJet UK Country Manager, expressed the airline's commitment to growth, stating, “Following another consecutive record summer [in 2024], easyJet is continuing to expand in the UK next year with more aircraft, enabling us to offer an even greater choice of flights and package holidays for our customers across the country." Gayward added, “Our investment in two new bases in Italy will also benefit our customers in the UK, providing great value and convenient connectivity to major European cities, whether they’re traveling for leisure or business, and we look forward to welcoming them on board."
