Pilotcenter.net News has reported that the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) in Brazil has given the green light for Embraer to export 16 E175 aircraft to US regional carrier Republic Airways. The approved finance, totaling R$2.1 billion ($413 million), was confirmed on January 27, 2024, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2025. Republic Airways currently operates a fleet of over 200 Embraer E170s and E175 aircraft for major US airline partners like American Eagle, Delta Connection, and United Express.

The financing, provided by BNDES Exim Post-Shipment, will aid in covering a portion of the airline's overall investment. Aloizio Mercadante, President of BNDES, highlighted the bank's longstanding support for Embraer, noting the company's growth into a global aerospace leader. BNDES has been instrumental in funding over 1,300 aircraft exports from Embraer since 1997, amounting to $26 billion in investments.

Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer, expressed gratitude for BNDES's pivotal role in enhancing the company's competitiveness in the international market. He emphasized the significance of strategic support in bolstering Brazil's industrial standing globally and enabling Embraer to vie on equal footing with competitors in foreign markets. This collaboration not only fuels Embraer's growth but also helps sustain thousands of jobs in Brazil while solidifying the company's position as a top exporter of high value-added goods.
