Pilotcenter.net News is excited to report that Hunnu Air has officially kickstarted its first scheduled flights into mainland China, utilizing their brand-new E195-E2 aircraft from Embraer. The momentous occasion took place on May 11, 2025, with the inaugural E2 flight departing from Ulaanbaatar and touching down at Beijing’s Daxing International Airport (PKX), marking the aircraft's debut on a scheduled route into mainland China.
The collaboration between Hunnu Air, Embraer, and Beijing Daxing Airport was celebrated through a special ceremony held to commemorate the launch of this significant route. While the official announcement of the new route came on May 11, 2025, Flightradar24 data revealed that one of the two new E195-E2 aircraft, registered as EI-HUN, had already flown to PKX on May 5, 2025.
Munkhjargal Purevjal, the CEO of Hunnu Air, expressed his enthusiasm about the milestone, stating, “The launch of this route with our new E195-E2 aircraft reflects Hunnu Air’s determination to expand our international network and symbolizes the deepening friendship and collaboration between Mongolia and China in this new era.” He elaborated further, emphasizing the upgraded capabilities of the E195-E2 in meeting the growing demands of domestic and international travel, positioning it as a vital asset for the airline's long-term growth strategy.
The plans for Hunnu Air include deploying the E195-E2 aircraft to enhance capacity to various destinations such as Haikou, Sanya, Phu Quoc, with expanded services reaching Japan, China, Vietnam, India, South Korea, and even a new scheduled flight to Tashkent. Martyn Holmes, the CCO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, highlighted the significance of this route launch, declaring, “We take immense pride in the launch of this route with Hunnu Air’s new E195-E2, the first E2 jet to operate in mainland China.”
This significant step underscores the strong partnership between Embraer and Hunnu Air, with a shared commitment to ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable operations. Such initiatives are pivotal in unlocking the vast potential of Mongolia and bolstering the airline's growing Asia network. The successful type certification of the E190-E2 and E195-E2 jets by the Mongolia Civil Aviation Authority on April 16, 2024, laid the foundation for this remarkable achievement.
