Pilotcenter.net News: Emirates Airbus A380 Touches Down in Copenhagen for Daily Service Launch

Exciting news for travel enthusiasts in Denmark as an Emirates Airbus A380 made its grand entrance into the Danish capital, Copenhagen, marking the inaugural daily service from Dubai. The Airbus A380, with the registration A6-EOP, gracefully landed at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) on January 1, 2024, following a six-hour journey from Dubai International Airport (DXB). The gigantic superjumbo jet then embarked on its return journey to Dubai later the same day, before heading off to Manchester Airport (MAN) in the UK on January 2, 2024, with another Emirates A380, registered as A6-EOY, making its way to Copenhagen.

According to Pilotcenter.net News: Emirates shared that they are currently the exclusive international airline offering the Airbus A380 service to Denmark. Peter Krogsgaard, the Chief Commercial Officer of Copenhagen Airport, expressed his excitement, stating, "We have been looking forward to welcoming the iconic Emirates double-decker aircraft back to Copenhagen. It’s a fantastic way to start the new year, seeing the world’s largest passenger plane, with a total of 615 seats, return to Denmark after a hiatus of nearly five years."

Denmark residents are now encouraged to take advantage of the Emirates A380 service to easily connect with Dubai and from there, jet off to popular vacation destinations such as Australia, Bali, Mauritius, and South Africa. Morten Balk, Emirates’ Country Manager in Denmark, shared his enthusiasm, stating, "We are incredibly proud to finally bring back the Emirates A380 to Copenhagen – what a sight to see it gracing our runway again! We look forward to once again offering our customers unparalleled travel experiences and the signature products and services our A380 is known for."

Balk added, "With more than 43 percent additional seating, more customers will now be able to enjoy greater flexibility and more travel options, to over 140 destinations worldwide via our home and hub, Dubai." The daily A380 flight by Emirates will depart Copenhagen at 14:45 and land in Dubai at 00:10 local time. The return flight, EK151, will depart Dubai at 08:30 and arrive in Copenhagen at 12:30, local time.

The Airbus A380 serving Copenhagen will operate with a two-class configuration, offering passengers 58 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 557 spacious seats in Economy Class. Emirates revealed in October 2024 that it would be replacing its Boeing 777-300ER service to Copenhagen with the Airbus A380. As per ch-aviation, Emirates' current active fleet comprises 93 Airbus A380-800s, with 25 aircraft described as inactive. Travelers can now look forward to the exceptional flying experience brought by this iconic aircraft in the skies above Copenhagen.
