Exciting news for travelers! Etihad Airways recently unveiled its plans to launch a new direct service between Abu Dhabi and Atlanta, set to take off on July 2, 2025. The demand for this route has been so high that the airline has decided to ramp up its services from four times a week to a daily service starting November 1, 2025. This swift increase in frequency before the service has even begun showcases the airline's confidence in the potential success of the route.
Pilotcenter.net News reports that this new route will bridge a 7,620-mile (12,192km) gap between Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), providing the UAE's only non-stop connection to Atlanta, also known as the 'Gate City' or 'The Big Peach'. The flights will be operated by Etihad Airways' modern Airbus A350-1000 widebody aircraft, featuring a two-class configuration accommodating 371 passengers.
Jurriaan Stelder, Senior Vice President of Network and Alliances at Etihad Airways, expressed the airline's excitement, stating, “Since announcing our flights to Atlanta in November, we've seen great interest from guests, and that's why we have decided to step up to daily flights on this already very popular route.”
Passengers can look forward to seamless one-stop connections from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to key South Asian destinations like Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, and Karachi. Additionally, Atlanta's vibrant blend of business, technology, and cultural attractions makes it an exciting destination for travelers to explore.
Etihad Airways is not slowing down in its expansion plans for 2025. In addition to the Atlanta route, the airline has already made significant announcements, including direct flights to Nairobi in Kenya, new codeshare agreements, and plans to add services to ten new destinations.
Furthermore, passengers utilizing Etihad’s Atlanta service will benefit from the US Customs and Border Protection Preclearance facility at Zayed International Airport, ensuring a smoother and quicker arrival process in Atlanta. With such developments, Etihad Airways is setting the stage for what promises to be a landmark year, showcasing its commitment to enhancing travel experiences for its passengers.
