Landing with style - Etihad Airways welcomed its brand new Airbus A380 service with open arms in Singapore, now marking the city as one of the chosen destinations for the magnificent superjumbo jet! Departing from Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport on February 1, 2025, the Etihad Airbus A380-800, registered as A6-API, made its grand entrance at Singapore Changi Airport the following day during the morning hours. The decision to bring this impressive aircraft to Singapore was shared by Etihad Airways back in August 2024, coinciding with the exciting occasion of Singapore National Day.

Joining the prestigious list of global destinations served by Etihad's A380s, which includes London-Heathrow Airport, New York’s John F Kennedy Airport, and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, Singapore is now set to witness over 700 additional seats weekly on this popular daily service. The A380 aircraft also offers passengers a luxurious experience with features like The Residence - labeled as "the world's only three-room suite in the sky."

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed the airline's enthusiasm for expanding their services to Singapore, stating, “As a vibrant and dynamic city, Singapore is always going to be a key destination in our global network. The decision to deploy our much-loved A380 boosts our travel offering between Abu Dhabi and Singapore and highlights our resolve to go beyond by delivering fantastic travel experiences across Etihad’s growing global network.”

Moreover, De emphasized the airline's dedication to providing exceptional travel experiences by unveiling broader network expansion plans and increased frequency on key routes, solidifying their growth momentum in Asia. The introduction of the A380 in Singapore aligns with the growing demand for travel to and from the city, showcasing Etihad Airways' commitment to exceeding passenger expectations and fostering memorable journeys across their global network.
