Etihad Airways has taken their partnership with the Chennai Super Kings to new heights by showcasing their fresh look livery on the new Airbus A320neo. This special aircraft, the first of its kind to be operated by a UAE carrier, will be flying on short-haul routes to Chennai, India, starting from December 2024. Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to reaffirm our dedication to the Indian market and honor our collaboration with CSK through this eye-catching new livery featuring the Chennai Super Kings’ signature yellow and blue colors. Our alliance with CSK holds a special place in our hearts, as we understand the immense joy that cricket brings to fans worldwide.”
Earlier this year, Etihad announced its official sponsorship of CSK for the 2024 Indian Premier League season, adding to the airline's impressive portfolio of sports partnerships, which includes Manchester City and Formula 1 racing at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. De emphasized, “With our expanding global network, we aim to showcase the CSK-themed livery to millions of individuals across various destinations, bringing more cricket enthusiasts together to enjoy the sport we all love.”
With 181 weekly flights to 11 cities in India, Etihad ensures seamless connectivity for Indian travelers to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and North America. This year, the airline introduced new routes to Jaipur, Kozhikode, and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, along with increased frequencies to major hubs like Mumbai and Delhi. The unveiling of the CSK-inspired aircraft signifies a significant milestone in Etihad's commitment to the Indian market and their passion for uniting global audiences through the shared love of cricket.
