Etihad Airways has exciting news for travelers and aviation enthusiasts! In an official press release dated November 25, 2024, the airline revealed plans to launch 10 new destinations beginning in 2025 with the aim of boosting tourism to Abu Dhabi. The strategic move is a key part of Etihad's ambitious expansion program, set to draw tens of thousands of visitors directly to Abu Dhabi.
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Launching ten new destinations in a single day underscores our commitment to expanding our airline with a robust route network and top-notch, customer-centric service. This milestone wouldn't have been achievable without the dedicated efforts of our team and the continued support of our valued passengers.”
Kicking off the new routes on July 2, 2025, Etihad will offer round-trip flights between Abu Dhabi and Atlanta, United States, operating four times a week utilizing an Airbus A350. Following this, from September 7 to 8, 2025, they will introduce a fresh daily round-trip service linking Abu Dhabi and Taipei, utilizing a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
As the months progress, in October 2025, Etihad plans to launch three more round-trip routes connecting Abu Dhabi to Medan in Indonesia, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and Krabi in Thailand. These routes will have varying frequencies, with an Airbus A321LR serving these destinations.
Further expanding its network, starting November 1, 2025, Etihad will commence flights to and from Tunis, Tunisia, with an Airbus A321LR aircraft operating three times a week. Continuing their growth, four additional routes are scheduled to launch in November 2025, connecting Abu Dhabi with Chiang Mai in Thailand, Hanoi in Vietnam, Hong Kong in China, and Algiers. These routes will involve a mix of aircraft, with the Airbus A321LR and Boeing 787 Dreamliner taking the skies.
These newly unveiled routes are an exciting addition to Etihad's existing 2025 destinations, which include Prague, Warsaw, and Al Alamein. The carrier highlights that Zayed International Airport (AUH) will play a crucial role in facilitating the launch of these new connections.
Neves shared his optimism, stating, “2025 holds great promise for Etihad, with an extensive list of over 90 destinations in more than 50 countries, a fleet exceeding 110 aircraft – featuring our new A321LRs – and a warm welcome extended to over 20 million guests onboard. Most significantly, it will assist us in bringing over a million visitors to Abu Dhabi.” Keep an eye on Pilotcenter.net News for updates on Etihad's impressive journey towards expanding their route network and enhancing the traveler experience!
