Air Canada is spreading its wings with the announcement of a new seasonal route linking Canada and Scotland: a direct service between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Edinburgh Airport (EDI). Set to take off from June 27 to September 7, 2025, this service will operate three times a week during the peak summer season.

Using their fleet of Boeing B737 MAX 8 aircraft, Air Canada will connect these two bustling cities on a schedule that caters to travelers. Flight AC936 will depart from Montreal at 21:50 local time, making its way to Edinburgh by 09:15 local time on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On the return leg, Flight AC937 will leave Edinburgh at 11:15 local time, arriving back in Montreal at 13:35 local time on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The B737 MAX 8 aircraft will boast a dual-class configuration, offering 16 premium economy seats and 153 economy seats for a comfortable journey across the Atlantic. This route supplements Air Canada's daily service between Edinburgh and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YTO), creating more travel options for passengers.

Speaking about this exciting development, Margaret Skinner, Air Canada’s Senior Director of sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, emphasized the significance of this new connection, stating: “Edinburgh has always been an important market for Air Canada, thanks to strong business, tourism, and cultural ties between Scotland and Canada, so we are proud to be expanding our presence in the market by adding a second route for 2025.”

The introduction of this new Montreal to Edinburgh route sets the stage for enhanced travel experiences, bridging the gap between these two vibrant destinations and offering more opportunities for exploration and connection.
