Fiji Airways has recently introduced two brand new ATR aircraft to its fleet, opening up exciting opportunities for enhanced connectivity throughout Fiji and the South Pacific. The arrival of these aircraft marks a significant milestone for the airline, with the first ATR landing on December 29, 2024, swiftly followed by the second on January 5, 2025. The deployment of these ATR 72-600 planes, each boasting a seating capacity of 68 passengers, is set to revolutionize travel within Fiji, especially benefiting communities in the Northern region.
These aircraft are slated to be primarily utilized on regional routes, particularly those serving the Northern and Western areas of Fiji. Looking ahead, Fiji Airways plans to introduce more ATR aircraft to bolster its capacity, offering passengers more frequent and efficient services on key domestic routes such as Nadi International Airport (NAN) to Nausori International Airport (SUV) in Suva and Labasa Airport (LBS). With a strategic focus on enhancing Nadi Airport as a pivotal hub for connectivity, the airline aims to elevate travel options for both domestic and international travelers.
Fiji Airways' CEO and Managing Director, Andre Viljoen, expressed the airline’s commitment to advancing domestic connectivity with the addition of these two new ATR aircraft, emphasizing their importance in providing comfortable and efficient travel options. Moreover, Fiji Link, the domestic and regional subsidiary of Fiji Airways, has unveiled its fresh staff uniforms aligned with the signature Fiji Airways’ aesthetic. This uniform update is part of the airline’s endeavor to harmonize company branding across all its branches, ensuring a unified appearance for team members across Fiji Airways and Fiji Link.
