ANA has recently introduced an exciting upgrade for its Boeing 787-9 fleet with the launch of a new business class seat dubbed 'THE Room FX' (Future Experience). Unveiled during a grand reveal at the prestigious Paris Air Show on June 17, 2025, this new seat sets out to elevate the premium flying experience offered by the renowned Japanese airline aboard its Dreamliners.

Drawing inspiration from the success of ANA's existing premium product, 'THE Room,' found on its Boeing 777-300ER fleet since 2019, 'THE Room FX' has been developed in collaboration with Safran Seats, a subsidiary of the esteemed French aerospace conglomerate, and the innovative British design studio Acumen. To optimize the passenger experience, the seat's outer shell and sliding privacy doors have been subtly refined to reduce weight while maintaining a high level of privacy.

What sets 'THE Room FX' apart is its unique design feature - rather than a traditional reclining backrest, this seat offers a spacious pan that can transform into a sofa-like setting or convert into a fully flat bed by adjusting the lower part of the seat. Complementing this innovative design is a larger in-flight entertainment screen (IFE) compared to previous ANA business class configurations, ensuring a more immersive travel experience.

Furthermore, the 'THE Room FX' cabin layout features an alternating pattern of front and back-facing seats, strategically designed to create a sense of openness and spaciousness within the Boeing 787 cabin.
