Pilotcenter.net News: Wizz Air Unveils New Cabin Design for Airbus A321neo Fleet

Exciting news for airline enthusiasts as the first aircraft showcasing Wizz Air’s fresh cabin design has been introduced into its fleet. This new design will soon be a standard feature on all forthcoming deliveries of the Airbus A321neo and the brand-new long-range A321XLR aircraft. The focal point of this redesign is the Airbus Airspace Cabin, meticulously crafted by the European aircraft manufacturer to elevate the overall passenger experience during flights.

In a recent announcement on February 12, 2025, Wizz Air shared that the initial revamped Airbus A321neo comes equipped with an innovative lighting system boasting multiple settings to cater to various phases of the flight, from boarding to dining, relaxing, and sleeping. A Wizz Air spokesperson highlighted that these designed lighting schemes aim to establish a calming and pleasurable atmosphere, ultimately ensuring a more comfortable journey for all travelers on board.

Aside from the state-of-the-art lighting system, the aircraft interior has also seen a transformation with lavatories that have been completely overhauled, featuring a sleek, modern aesthetic and top-of-the-line amenities. Noteworthy for passengers, the newly designed cabin includes spacious overhead compartments, providing ample room for luggage and personal belongings.

"We are proud to be the first European low-cost carrier to incorporate the Airspace Standard Overhead Stowage Compartments for enhanced passenger comfort," mentioned an airline representative. For travelers with visual impairments, the cabin boasts braille signage throughout the aircraft, including row number indicators and lavatory signage, ensuring inclusivity for all passengers.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the new cabin design, Michael Delehant, Senior Chief Commercial and Operations Officer at Wizz Air, stated, "This refreshed design, with its cutting-edge features and enhanced accessibility, signifies our unwavering commitment to delivering the best possible travel experience for all passengers."

Wizz Air presently operates the A321neo, with a substantial order placed in August 2023 for 75 more aircraft, bringing the total order for this type to over 400. In the coming months, the airline is eagerly awaiting the delivery of its first A321XLR after placing an order for 44 of these single-aisle long-range aircraft.

The Airbus A321XLR, which was introduced at the Paris Air Show in 2019, is considered a gamechanger for single-aisle aircraft. Capable of flying 4,700 nautical miles for up to 11 hours, this aircraft opens up new possibilities for operators to offer non-stop long-haul services on routes such as New York and Rome, London and Vancouver, and Sydney and Kuala Lumpur. Stay tuned as we anticipate Wizz Air to usher in a new era of long-distance travel with the A321XLR taking flight in the near future.
