Global Airlines, a British Airbus A380 startup led by entrepreneur James Asquith, is setting the record straight regarding recent rumors about its future. Responding to what they dubbed as "complete rubbish" circulating in the news, the carrier is aiming to dispel misinformation by releasing a ‘MythBusters’ guide in the near future.

Addressing the wave of speculation, a spokesperson for Global Airlines voiced concerns, stating, “It’s a shame when this happens because it’s super misleading and the folk reading it can get a bit overexcited about what is actually complete rubbish.”

Contrary to recent reports suggesting a shift towards aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) operations and alleged investment from a Saudi Arabian company, Global Airlines confirmed on June 3, 2025, that they have no intentions of changing their strategy to become an ACMI operator. They remain focused on their ultimate goal of becoming a scheduled airline, although they acknowledge there are challenges ahead on that journey.

Responding to criticisms about low passenger numbers on their first commercial transatlantic flight on May 15, 2025, Global Airlines explained that the goal was not to fill seats but to test service quality and products, particularly in their premium cabins. The company emphasized that the flight successfully met their objectives and that having fewer passengers allowed them to test all intended elements effectively.

Learning from the recent flurry of speculation, Global Airlines expressed a commitment to exercise caution in their communications moving forward. “Whatever we do say will be held against us later, so we only want to say it once we know it for sure. For now, we will hold our nerve and hope you can maintain your patience,” the statement conveyed.
