Gunfire hits Southwest Airlines plane at Dallas Love Field

Pilotcenter.net News reported an unusual incident involving a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 at Dallas Love Field on November 15, 2024. The aircraft, set to depart for Indianapolis, was struck by a bullet while taxiing for takeoff. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the gunfire near the cockpit happened around 8:30 p.m. No injuries were reported, and passengers safely deplaned after the plane returned to the gate.
In response to the incident, Dallas Love Field temporarily closed Runway 13R/31L, although airport operations were minimally affected. The Dallas Police Department has taken charge of the investigation to identify the source of the gunfire. Thankfully, the situation did not result in any harm to those on board.
