Philippine Airlines is gearing up for a new chapter with the appointment of their incoming President, Richard Nuttall. The British aviation executive, known for his successful tenure at SriLankan Airlines, is set to take the reins on May 29, 2025. Nuttall's extensive experience across continents positions him as a key player in propelling Philippine Airlines to new heights under the leadership of Chairman and CEO, Dr. Lucio C. Tan, and President Lucio C. Tan III of PAL Holdings Inc.

Joining Nuttall is Carlos Luis Fernandez, who will step into the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Philippine Airlines at the same time. Both appointments signify the airline's commitment to bringing onboard top talent to drive sustainable growth. Dr. Lucio C. Tan expressed his confidence in Nuttall's ability to enhance PAL's standing in the industry, emphasizing the airline's dedication to assembling a formidable team.

Lucio Tan III echoed these sentiments, highlighting Nuttall's integral role in the airline's strategic direction to expand globally while staying true to the Heart of the Filipino brand. The incoming President will succeed Captain Stanley Ng, who will transition to new responsibilities within the PAL Group.

Looking ahead, the airline remains optimistic about its trajectory in 2025, buoyed by their stellar financial performance in recent years. With record earnings in 2023 and a strong net income in 2024, Philippine Airlines is poised for continued success under the stewardship of both Tan and Nuttall.

As they prepare for this exciting new chapter, the Philippine Airlines team is primed to build upon their achievements and chart a course for sustained growth in the years to come.
