Icelandair is set to spread its wings even further, as they prepare to launch a new direct service to the vibrant city of Miami, Florida starting in October 2025. The airline plans to operate three weekly flights from Reykjavik, utilizing their cutting-edge Airbus A321LR aircraft for the journey. This exciting announcement marks Miami as Icelandair's second destination in Florida, alongside Orlando.

With flights scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday between Keflavik International Airport and Miami International Airport, passengers will have the opportunity to explore the sunny shores of Florida during the winter months from late October 2025 to March 2026. This new service not only connects travelers to Miami's bustling streets but also solidifies Miami as the only airport in Florida offering nonstop flights to all five Scandinavian countries.

Bogi Nils Bogason, President and CEO of Icelandair, expressed his enthusiasm for this expansion, stating, "We are thrilled to be opening a new gateway from Europe to sunny Florida via Iceland and from Miami to Iceland and beyond." The addition of Miami as a destination complements Icelandair's existing network, providing seamless connections to 34 destinations across Europe for travelers.

In December 2024, Icelandair welcomed its first Airbus A321LR to their fleet, marking a significant shift from their historical use of Boeing aircraft. The airline has already begun operating the new aircraft on routes to London-Heathrow and Oslo Gardermoen, with plans to introduce two more A321LRs before summer and additional aircraft at a later date.
