In a recent announcement on March 30, 2025, Lufthansa Group detailed the strategic decision to integrate ITA Airways into its network operations, ensuring a seamless transition for travelers. From check-in to baggage reclaim, the entire ITA Airways handling operation will be consolidated within Lufthansa terminals at Frankfurt and Munich airports.

Notable changes include ITA Airways moving from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 at Frankfurt Airport, allowing for smoother passenger transfers and convenient access to the Deutsche Bahn train station with high-speed connections. Similarly, in Munich, ITA Airways will relocate to Terminal 2 and its satellite managed by the Lufthansa-Munich Airport joint venture, known for its top-notch facilities and service.
