Exciting news on the horizon as the fuselage of a retired Kenya Airways Boeing 737-700 NG has found a new home at Mangu High School after a unique journey through the streets of Nairobi. The Boeing 737 fuselage, generously donated by Kenya Airways, embarked on a 30-mile trek from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the school, marking a special milestone in the institution's rich history in aviation education.

Mangu High School, known for its esteemed alumni such as former president Mwai Kibaki, has deep connections to the aviation industry and is dedicated to inspiring and nurturing future aviators. The impressive transport operation of the fuselage attracted public attention, with caution advised due to the size of the load traversing the roads.

Hellen Mathuka, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Kenya Airways, expressed, "This aircraft, once soaring the skies, now begins a new chapter as a learning resource to inspire and equip future aviators, engineers, and innovators." The journey of the fuselage was documented through captivating photos shared online and live coverage on local news channels.

A special ceremony commemorating the arrival of the fuselage was graced by Archbishop Rev. Philip Anyolo, Mangu Principal John Kuria, Dr. Wilfred Kiboro, Hellen Mathuka, and enthusiastic students from the school. This momentous occasion signifies a collaborative effort to empower students with hands-on training as part of their aviation education curriculum.

Notably, this isn’t the first time Kenya Airways has supported Mangu High School, as a Boeing 737-700 was previously donated in 2023. The donation of the Boeing 737 fuselage exemplifies a commitment to nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals and fostering innovation within the industry.
