Kenya Airways Welcomes New Boeing 737-800, Marks 20-Year Milestone with DAE

Kenya Airways recently celebrated a significant milestone with the arrival of their newest addition, a Boeing 737-800, at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This latest aircraft marks the expansion of the airline's fleet to 35 and plays a crucial role in their strategy to enhance operational efficiency and accommodate the increasing demand for air travel within their network.

Allan Kilavuka, Kenya Airways' Group Managing Director and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about the new aircraft, stating, "The addition of this B737-800 marks a pivotal moment in our fleet expansion journey. It will increase our seat capacity and is a demonstration of our ability to adapt and grow in a challenging operating environment, even as the global aviation industry faces challenges in aircraft availability."

The CEO of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), Firoz Tarapore, highlighted the significance of the partnership with Kenya Airways, emphasizing how the addition of the Boeing 737-800 will support the airline's growth and meet the escalating demand for regional travel.

In a gesture of appreciation, Kenya Airways recognized the dedicated team behind the successful flight of the Boeing 737-800 to Nairobi, commending their unwavering commitment to ensuring safety, efficiency, and comfort for passengers. The airline expressed gratitude towards their skilled pilots, ground operations, and engineering teams for their efforts in making this milestone possible.

This 12-year-old Boeing 737-800, registered as 5Y-CYF, previously served with South American airlines GOL and REX before joining Kenya Airways. Currently, the airline operates a fleet of seven Boeing 737-800s and six 787-8 Dreamliners as part of its existing aircraft lineup.

The arrival of the new Boeing 737-800 symbolizes Kenya Airways' dedication to enhancing connectivity, expanding their network, and providing exceptional service to travelers. It's an exciting time for the airline as they continue to grow and evolve in the dynamic aviation industry.
