Korean Air has confirmed a significant step towards expanding its fleet by finalizing a memorandum of understanding at the prestigious Farnborough Airshow 2024. Additionally, the airline will secure a firm order for eight spare engines from GE Aerospace, with the possibility of two more engines and maintenance services, amounting to $7.8 billion.

South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Ahn Duk-geun, expressed enthusiasm for the airline's collaboration with prominent U.S. aviation companies, noting, “Through these partnerships, Korean Air is poised to enhance its standing in the global aviation landscape, moving closer to realizing its goal of being among the world’s top ten airlines.”
