LOT Polish Airlines boosts its fleet with two new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners

LOT Polish Airlines has exciting news to share! The Minister of Infrastructure in Poland, Dariusz Klimczak, recently revealed that the airline has bolstered its fleet with the acquisition of two brand-new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. This strategic move is a testament to LOT's commitment to growth and success in the face of the global challenges gripping the aviation industry.
Klimczak expressed his optimism about this development, highlighting the incredible opportunities it opens up for PLL LOT moving forward. With these two new aircraft in their arsenal, the airline is gearing up for an expansion of long-haul flights and the introduction of fresh routes by 2028.
President of the Management Board of LOT Polish Airlines, Michał Fijoł, shared further insights into this milestone, mentioning that the delivery of the new Dreamliners is slated for next year. Fijoł emphasized the substantial investment involved in the process, revealing that the deal for the two aircraft is valued at hundreds of millions of zlotys, affirming the airline's dedication to enhancing its capabilities.
The agreement entails a 12-year lease of the aircraft from DP Aircraft, currently operated by Thai Airways, with an estimated operating lease cost of approximately $167.63 million. This move underscores LOT's ongoing efforts to strengthen its long-haul fleet, which currently comprises a total of 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, including a mix of 787-8 and 787-9 versions.
LOT's expansive fleet of 83 aircraft serves an extensive network of 98 routes across 89 destinations in 50 countries. This includes a diverse range of long-haul destinations in the United States, Canada, China, Japan, and South Korea, solidifying the airline's global presence and commitment to providing top-notch services to travelers worldwide.
