Pilotcenter.net News: Malaysia Airlines Rings in 2025 Lunar New Year with Exclusive In-Flight Menu
As we step into the spirit of the Lunar New Year, Malaysia Airlines is delighting passengers with a special treat onboard their flights and within the carrier's lounges. To mark this festive occasion until January 31, 2025, business class travelers can savor a delectable menu featuring Steamed Red Snapper with Red Dates and Ginger. Meanwhile, economy class passengers are in for a flavorful surprise with servings of Salted Egg Popcorn Chicken, available on select routes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) to various destinations including Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) and Kuching International Airport (KCH), on top of other Regional and East Asian flights.
Adding to the culinary excitement, Malaysia Airlines introduces its "Best of Asia" menu showcasing locally-inspired and destination-themed dishes for passengers. Travelers flying from Kuala Lumpur to Incheon International Airport (ICN) by February 28, 2025, and those heading to Southeast Asia, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching from February 1, 2025, can enjoy this special menu.
Moreover, the airline is all set to kick off a year-long collaboration with Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur to elevate the dining experience at its Golden Lounge situated in KUL Airport. The partnership starts with an exclusive Chinese New Year menu that will be available until February 5, 2025. Passengers can indulge in a Lunar New Year buffet along with a traditional “Yee Sang” prosperity noodle tossing ceremony on both Chinese New Year's Eve and Chinese New Year’s Day at all Golden Lounges in Kuala Lumpur Airport.
For those not familiar, “Yee Sang” is a cherished Chinese New Year tradition encapsulating hopes for prosperity and growth. Symbolized by the tossing of a colorful salad of raw fish and symbolic vegetables, the act represents wishes for abundance in the coming year. Guests partake in this joyful occasion by using chopsticks to toss the noodles high in the air, believing that the higher the toss, the greater the influx of luck. It’s a festive experience not to be missed while embracing the Lunar New Year celebrations with Malaysia Airlines.
