Malaysia Airlines flies A350 to CDG on Paris return

Malaysia Airlines proudly announced the revival of its direct flights to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on March 22, 2025, marking a splendid return after a hiatus of nine years. The airline's sleek Airbus A350-941, bearing the registration 9M-MAB, took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport as Flight MH22 at 23:53 local time, touching down in Paris at 05:51 local time the following day, following a seamless flight of 12 hours and 58 minutes. This renewed connection to the iconic city of Paris becomes the 68th destination in Malaysia Airlines' extensive route network.
The inaugural flight buzzed with excitement as passengers reveled in the special memorabilia gifted to them at a vibrant send-off ceremony held at KUL Airport. Executives from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) graced the event, with Boo Hui Yee, the Group's Chief Financial Officer, and Dersenish Aresandiran, the Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines for MAG, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
To enhance the passenger voyage further, Malaysia Airlines rolled out its exclusive "Time for Memorable Journeys" pocketbook guide for all travelers on the Paris-bound route. Designed to enrich the travel experience, the guide is a comprehensive resource offering valuable insights on local phrases, French culture, and tips on savoring the essence of Parisian cuisine. It aims to empower explorers to delve into the city's charm like seasoned locals, ensuring a truly enriching journey.
The flight, labeled MH22, boasted an impressive load factor of 95%, and as its return leg, MH21, took off from Paris at 11:58 local time on March 24, 2025, with a reported load factor of 98%. In a delightful gesture, inbound passengers were welcomed with loot bags by Emily Tan, the Head of Airlines Global Marketing at MAG, setting the tone for a warm and inviting experience onboard.
Speaking about this milestone, Dersenish Aresandiran, the Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines at MAG, expressed, “The launch of our direct service to Paris marks a significant milestone for Malaysia Airlines as we expand our European footprint and reconnect Malaysia with one of the world’s most iconic destinations.” He emphasized how this route solidifies their role as a gateway to Asia, responding to the escalating demand for seamless travel between Malaysia and France.
