Nigerian carrier Max Air recently made an announcement that has caused a stir among its passengers. The airline, headquartered at the bustling Kano International Airport, has decided to temporarily halt a portion of its flight operations in order to conduct scheduled aircraft maintenance. This news has led to disruptions in Max Air's flight schedule for the month of January.

In an official statement released by Max Air, the carrier mentioned, “some routes may experience adjustments or cancellations” between January 4 and January 8, 2025. The airline emphasized the importance of this maintenance period to ensure the continued delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient services to its passengers. Max Air assured its patrons that by January 9, 2025, all flight schedules would return to normal.

Max Air, known for its diverse fleet, boasts a range of aircraft including Boeing 737s, Boeing 747s, a Boeing 777, and an Embraer ERJ-135BJ. However, current data indicates that only a couple of Max Air's aircraft are currently active, with the rest of the fleet undergoing maintenance or in storage.

Recently, the airline faced an unexpected incident on December 4, 2024, when a Max Air Boeing 737 encountered an engine fire mid-flight due to a bird strike. The quick thinking of the flight crew averted a potential disaster, and the aircraft landed safely with no major repercussions.

As Max Air endeavors to ensure the safety and reliability of its fleet through scheduled maintenance, passengers can look forward to smoother and more secure travels once operations resume in full swing.
