Norwegian has just unveiled its exciting plans for the summer of 2025, with the announcement of 17 new routes set to launch, including three from the UK. This Oslo-based budget airline is gearing up to significantly expand its operations, aiming to offer a total of 344 individual routes serving 128 destinations across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East during the peak summer months of 2025. The new routes originating from the UK will bring more travel options for passengers, adding to Norwegian's existing network of 21 routes connecting the UK to 15 destinations in five countries.

Among the new routes, travelers can look forward to additional services from Norwegian's UK hub at London-Gatwick Airport (LGW) and the introduction of Newcastle Airport (NCL) in Northeast England as a new destination. The expansion won't be limited to the UK, as Norwegian also plans to launch new routes from other Nordic countries such as Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Latvia, connecting passengers to various European cities.

One highlight of Norwegian's summer 2025 program is the launch of a new service from Gatwick to Riga (RIX) in Latvia starting from March 30, 2025, providing travelers with more options to explore the Baltic region. Following this, the airline will introduce twice-weekly flights from Gatwick to Ålesund-Vigra Airport (AES) in Norway on April 11, 2025, offering a gateway to the scenic Norwegian landscapes. Lastly, starting May 2, 2024, passengers can enjoy twice-weekly flights from Newcastle to Copenhagen in Denmark, further expanding the airline's reach.

Magnus Thome Maursund, the Commercial Director at Norwegian, expressed excitement about the upcoming summer season, stating, "The summer holidays are something everyone looks forward to, and we’re thrilled to offer new and exciting destinations. As the summer months are a busy travel period, we encourage customers to plan and book their holidays early to secure seats." Norwegian's comprehensive summer program for 2025 will cover a wide array of routes across five Nordic countries, with a strong focus on providing diverse travel options for passengers.

The airline's commitment to enhancing its services is further highlighted by its fleet expansion, which currently consists of 132 aircraft, including Boeing 737-800s, Boeing 737 MAX 8s, De Havilland Canada DHC-8s, and Embraer ERJ-190s operated by Widerøe, its regional subsidiary. Norwegian's recent passenger statistics also paint a positive picture, with the airline group having carried nearly 1.9 million passengers in November 2024, showcasing a steady growth trajectory.

As Norwegian continues to evolve and expand its offerings, travelers can anticipate more exciting developments and travel opportunities on the horizon. Stay tuned for further updates from Pilotcenter.net News as we follow Norwegian's journey into the summer of 2025 and beyond.
