Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines strike key partnership deal

Philippine Airlines recently unveiled an exciting new partnership and codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways to coincide with the much-anticipated launch of daily nonstop flights from Manila to Doha. Commencing on June 16, 2025, this collaboration is set to enhance connectivity for travelers from the Philippines heading to Qatar and beyond, bringing a wealth of new travel opportunities.
In a joint statement, the two carriers expressed their enthusiasm for the enhanced passenger experience this partnership will offer. Through the codeshare program, passengers can seamlessly connect to over 170 destinations worldwide across both airlines' extensive networks, including key regions such as Africa, the Americas, Central Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Qatar Airways' Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, highlighted the airline's commitment to global connectivity, stating, “At Qatar Airways, we continue to explore opportunities that strengthen our connectivity across the world, and our latest partnership with Philippine Airlines is a testament to this commitment.”
Echoing the sentiment, Philippine Airlines' President and Chief Operating Officer, Captain Stanley K. Ng, emphasized the significance of building new connections and enhancing flexibility for passengers. Captain Ng noted, “As Philippine Airlines expands its presence across the globe, we are delighted to forge new alliances that enable us to build new connections and give our business and leisure passengers more flexibility and seamless access in flying to their desired destinations.”
The partnership aims not only to facilitate travel but also to deepen socio-economic ties between the Qatari and Filipino communities. With a focus on promoting tourism, trade, and business growth, the collaboration is poised to bring significant benefits to global travelers, including Overseas Filipino Workers and their families.
Looking ahead, the airlines are committed to further collaboration, with plans to promote additional destinations in their respective networks and explore opportunities for frequent flyer cooperation. The daily nonstop flights will be operated using Philippine Airlines' long-range Airbus A330-300 aircraft, offering a comfortable dual-class configuration with 18 flat-bed seats in business class and 341 seats in the main economy class cabin.
