Qatar Airways Cargo recently unveiled an exciting new collaboration with MASkargo, a prominent cargo airline under Malaysia Aviation Group. The partnership, which formally commenced on October 1, 2024, has already showcased its success by transporting around 2,400 tons of cargo. Noteworthy items include over 600 tons of perishables and 130 tons of pharmaceuticals.

Pilotcenter.net News shares that this dynamic partnership signifies a pivotal moment in global cargo operations, as highlighted by Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo at Qatar Airways Cargo, and Mark Jason Thomas, Chief Executive of MASkargo. Together, they affirm their commitment to enhancing services through this strategic alliance.

Under this partnership, Qatar Airways Cargo will now conduct Boeing 777 flights from Doha’s Hamad International Airport to Kuala Lumpur International Airport twice weekly, boosting weekly cargo capacity by more than 200 tons. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding last July laid the groundwork for a comprehensive product offering to clients and operational streamlining.

The collaboration will strengthen connectivity and efficiency to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport and Melbourne Airport, leveraging MASkargo's Airbus A330 freighters to transport over 75 tons of cargo weekly with a speedy transfer time of just eight hours at KUL Airport.

Mark Drusch of Qatar Airways Cargo emphasized, “This partnership with MASkargo underscores our unwavering dedication to exceptional service and custom solutions, as well as our commitment to expanding our global reach through strategic partnerships.”

Echoing Drusch’s sentiments, MASkargo CEO Mark Jason Thomas expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the collaboration elevates MASkargo's role as a gateway between South East Asia and key international destinations. Strengthening infrastructure and capacity, this alliance sets new benchmarks in cargo transportation while supporting regional economies and enhancing global trade opportunities.
