Qatar Airways Plans Major Order of Widebody Aircraft Soon

Qatar Airways is gearing up for significant growth as they hint at a forthcoming major order for widebody aircraft. In a recent statement to Pilotcenter.net News, Thierry Antinori, the Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways, shared insights into the airline's future plans. "To secure the growth of tomorrow by continuing to have a very strong and the best fleet in the industry, our CEO is working on the RFP (request for proposal) with the aircraft manufacturer to place a big order soon," Antinori revealed.
While details of the potential deal remain undisclosed, speculations suggest that Qatar Airways may be considering orders from Boeing, Airbus, or both. The airline made headlines at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024 with an order for 20 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, expanding their total fleet to 60 of these planes. Leading up to the airshow, reports hinted at Qatar Airways eyeing orders ranging from 100 to 150 long-range jets, indicating a significant expansion in their operations.
As per information from ch-aviation, Qatar Airways has existing orders with Boeing for 11 787 Dreamliners and 25 737 MAX 10 jets. Additionally, the carrier is set to take delivery of 50 Airbus A321neos and 18 A350-1000 aircraft in the near future. This strategic move aligns with the airline's commitment to maintaining a competitive edge with a top-tier fleet in the aviation industry.
