Royal Air Maroc Reaches Milestone with Arrival of Tenth Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Exciting news from Royal Air Maroc as the Moroccan flag carrier recently welcomed its tenth Boeing 787 Dreamliner to its fleet. The arrival of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport on November 24, 2024, was a momentous occasion celebrated with a traditional water salute.

With ambitious plans for growth, Royal Air Maroc aims to expand its fleet from over 50 aircraft to an impressive 200 planes within the next 15 years. Reflecting on this achievement, a spokesperson for the airline highlighted, "This delivery marks the first step in implementing Royal Air Maroc’s development plan, following the program agreement signed with the government in July 2023."

The addition of the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner strengthens Royal Air Maroc's fleet, which now boasts a mix of 787-9s and 787-8s. Excitingly, an eleventh Boeing Dreamliner is set to join the fleet before the year concludes and will open up new routes to São Paulo, Toronto, and Beijing.

It's no surprise that Royal Air Maroc has reaffirmed its commitment to growth by placing a repeat order for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. "The two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will enable Royal Air Maroc to expand its long-haul network in response to favorable market conditions," noted Abdelhamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc.

With a strategic focus on enhancing its fleet capacity, Royal Air Maroc continues to make significant strides in the aviation industry. Stay tuned for more updates as this airline reaches for the skies with its expanded long-haul aircraft family!
