Pilotcenter.net News reports that Royal Jordanian Airlines has exciting news for travelers as they gear up to launch regular flights between Amman and Washington DC starting in March 2025. The airline will be using their Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners to operate this new service three times a week on a non-stop 5,965-mile journey between Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. This service is set to kick off on March 23, 2025, offering year-round connectivity between the two capitals.

This expansion marks a significant milestone for Royal Jordanian, according to CEO Samer Majali, who stated, “Our upcoming first flight between the two capitals, Washington and Amman, makes this the fourth US city we fly directly to, as part of our global expansion strategy.” Majali added that by bridging these dynamic markets, they aim to boost tourism, trade, and investment opportunities while enhancing connectivity to the Gulf, Levant, and North Africa.

The new service is scheduled to fly twice a week, departing Amman on Tuesdays and Sundays. Flight RJ282 will leave at 11:25 local time, reaching Washington at 17:45, with the return leg, RJ283, departing Washington at 20:50 and arriving back in Amman the following afternoon at 15:25. Dina Kawar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s Ambassador to the United States, expressed excitement over this new link, highlighting that it will offer travelers a glimpse into Jordan’s rich heritage and modern allure.

With this new route, Royal Jordanian becomes the sole airline providing non-stop services between Amman and Washington following United Airlines' decision to discontinue its service in August 2024. Royal Jordanian’s fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners boasts a two-class configuration with 270 seats, 24 in business class and 246 in economy, offering passengers a comfortable travel experience. The fleet, with an average age of 9.5 years, is poised to cater to travelers seeking seamless connectivity and exceptional service across continents.
