Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has just announced a game-changing upgrade to their dining experience that will soon be available on all their flights. Dubbed ‘Flavors by SAS’, this innovative project aims to offer passengers a more diverse and globally inspired culinary journey while soaring through the skies.
Set to take off across their network starting from October 1, 2025, ‘Flavors by SAS’ will be introduced alongside the airline’s fresh European business class offering before expanding to their airport lounges and long-haul flights departing from Stockholm, Oslo, and Copenhagen. This groundbreaking concept builds upon the success of the ‘New Nordic by SAS’ initiative launched back in 2017.
In the words of Aron Backström, Vice President Product and Loyalty at SAS, “SAS has always been about showcasing the best of Scandinavia to the world, but with ‘Flavors by SAS’, we are flipping the script by infusing bold and diverse flavors inspired by Europe, the US, Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean into our culinary offerings.”
The heart of the ‘Flavors by SAS’ vision lies in providing travelers with an elevated dining experience that reflects a myriad of international influences while focusing on sustainability and reducing waste. By introducing a tiered meal service and incorporating a flexible dining approach, SAS aims to cater to the varying needs of passengers based on flight duration and conditions. This means everything from simpler basket service to elaborate tray meals with both hot and cold dishes will be on offer.
