Tigerair Taiwan employees are in for a pleasant surprise as they gear up to receive their year-end bonuses, which are set to be quite generous this year. The airline has announced that the average bonus will be equivalent to up to 12.5 months’ worth of salary, making it the highest year-end bonus ever given by an airline. This performance-based bonus will be distributed to employees in time for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday on January 29, 2025.

Local news outlet Focus Taiwan revealed that some lucky employees may even receive bonuses of up to 17.4 months’ worth of salary. This substantial bonus reflects the hard work and dedication of Tigerair Taiwan's employees throughout the working year of 2024. The airline plans to share its operating profits with its staff, showing appreciation for their contributions.

In addition to the hefty bonuses, Tigerair Taiwan will also implement a fixed monthly salary increase of NT$3,000 (US$90.99) for all employees, resulting in an average salary raise of 4% for the year 2025. This news comes in the wake of Taiwanese flag carrier China Airlines announcing a bonus worth 6.6 months’ salary for its employees. Other Taiwanese carriers like EVA Air and STARLUX are offering bonuses of six months and two months, respectively, along with wage increases ranging from 3.5% to 5%.

It’s heartening to see airlines recognizing the hard work of their employees and rewarding them accordingly. This move not only boosts employee morale but also fosters a sense of loyalty and dedication within the workforce.
