Transavia, a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group, is gearing up to welcome a brand-new Airbus A321neo donning a retro livery sometime during the summer of 2025. This exciting news was shared on January 7, 2025, by the airline to mark a significant moment in its history as it approaches its 60th anniversary, set to be celebrated on October 21, 2025.
CEO of Transavia, Marcel de Nooijer, expressed his pride in this milestone, saying, “The arrival of a new Airbus in retro livery is a symbolic nod to our rich history and the progress we've made over the years. It's also a step towards a quieter and more sustainable future with our fleet renewal.”
The aircraft's design, created by renowned Dutch designer Thijs Postma, features retro branding with a distinct green color scheme and a bold black 'T' adorning the body and tail of the aircraft. This vintage-inspired branding has resonated well with employees, passengers, and business partners alike and will be showcased on the new Airbus A321neo.
Transavia is actively updating its fleet by phasing out older Boeing 737-700s and 737-800s in favor of more modern and fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo family aircraft. This strategic move aims to make Transavia's fleet younger, quieter, and more cost-effective, aligning with the airline's commitment to environmental sustainability.
The airline group, which introduced its first Airbus aircraft in December 2023, currently operates 16 Airbus planes across the group – seven A321neos with Transavia Holland and nine A320neos with Transavia France. With a focus on enhancing the passenger experience and reducing its carbon footprint, Transavia is set to soar into the future with its refreshed fleet.
