Turkish Airlines has exciting news for travelers with the announcement of a new direct service from London-Stansted Airport to Istanbul. This marks a significant move for the carrier, adding a sixth UK departure point and providing passengers in the Greater London area with more travel options to Turkey and beyond.

Pilotcenter.net News reports that starting on March 18, 2026, Turkish Airlines will begin operating ten weekly services between London-Stansted and Istanbul. This frequency will increase to 14 weekly departures on March 29, 2026, coinciding with the start of the IATA summer slot season. Flights are expected to be serviced by Airbus A321 aircraft, offering passengers a comfortable and efficient journey.

With the addition of London-Stansted to its route network, Turkish Airlines will now operate out of seven key airports in the United Kingdom, solidifying its presence in the region. This expansion highlights the airline's commitment to providing seamless connections for travelers between the British Isles and over 350 global destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and beyond.

The strategic growth of Turkish Airlines in the UK and Ireland underscores its position as a major player in long-haul travel, bridging continents and offering convenient travel options for passengers. By increasing its weekly flights to an impressive total of 170 between the UK, Ireland, and Turkey, the airline is set to further enhance connectivity and convenience for travelers.

This move isn't the first time Turkish Airlines has operated at London-Stansted Airport, having previously served passengers between 2005 and 2009. The airline's presence, along with its cargo and low-cost subsidiary operations at the airport, aligns with London-Stansted's ambitious infrastructure investment program aimed at enhancing passenger experience and fostering economic growth in the region.

The ongoing development at Stansted, including a substantial terminal expansion and improved facilities, is expected to significantly boost job creation and contribute billions to the UK economy annually. As the airport gears up for increased capacity and more international traffic, Turkish Airlines' expansion will play a key role in driving growth and attracting more airlines to the vibrant hub.

In addition to the growth at Stansted, the airport has been making headlines with recent announcements, including new services and a refreshed brand identity. The launch of Turkish Airlines' new route adds to the airport's momentum, further solidifying its position as a key player in the UK aviation landscape.
