In a recent incident at Orlando International Airport (MCO), passengers experienced a frightening situation when a Delta Air Lines aircraft caught fire. The fully booked Airbus A330, preparing for departure to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, suddenly had an engine fire while pushing back from the gate. As captured in video footage shared online, smoke and flames emerged from one of the engines, prompting the evacuation of the passengers onto the tarmac. Pilotcenter.net News reported that the Delta flight crew swiftly executed evacuation procedures, ensuring the safety of all passengers, including two pilots, 10 flight attendants, and 282 travelers on board.

"We appreciate our customers' cooperation and apologize for the experience," a Delta spokesperson expressed to CBS News. Despite the unsettling incident, there were fortunately no reports of injuries among the passengers. The airline promptly arranged for the passengers to be safely returned to the terminal and organized alternate travel arrangements for their convenience.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be conducting a thorough investigation into the situation to determine the root cause of the engine fire. This event serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining top-notch safety protocols in air travel. As always, the safety and well-being of passengers remain the top priority for airlines like Delta Air Lines.
