Virgin Atlantic Introduces Daily Flights to Riyadh, Unveils New Service to Seoul

Virgin Atlantic has exciting news for travelers as they gear up to launch a daily service from London to Seoul, South Korea starting from March 29, 2026. In an announcement made on April 23, 2025, the airline revealed its plans to utilize Boeing 787-9 aircraft for this new route linking Incheon International Airport (ICN) in Seoul to London-Heathrow Airport (LHR). The airline emphasized that this new service will not only enhance existing connections to East Asia but also establish new ones with SkyTeam members including Vietnam Airlines, China Eastern, China Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, and Xiamen Airlines. Passengers flying to Seoul will have the opportunity to connect to 15 different cities through Seoul Incheon, encompassing various destinations in South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.
Adding to the excitement, Virgin Atlantic also announced its recent arrival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking a significant milestone with daily flights to King Khalid International Airport (RUH) since March 30, 2025, using Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. Shai Weiss, CEO of Virgin Atlantic, expressed his enthusiasm about this development stating, “Our new service is launching at an opportune time to support Saudi Vision 2030, driving growth in the region.” Weiss elaborated on his firsthand experience witnessing the rapid transformation of KSA during his visit in September last year, highlighting the country's evolving landscape including an expanding downtown business district and the UNESCO World Heritage site in Diriyah. He described the country as a remarkable example of transformation.
The CEO further mentioned that passengers can leverage the new Riyadh service to seamlessly connect to North America via the airline’s hub at Heathrow, or use Riyadh as a gateway to travel within Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Virgin Atlantic anticipates a strong interest from the Saudi Arabian market, with customers utilizing the service and effortlessly connecting to 12 major North American cities through Virgin Atlantic and Delta. Some of the cities include Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, Seattle, Boston, and Detroit. Additionally, the airline expressed eagerness to enhance its collaboration with Riyadh Air once it commences operations in 2025. With these developments, Virgin Atlantic is set to provide travelers with more options and seamless connectivity, catering to the evolving needs of passengers looking to explore new horizons.
