Virgin Atlantic has made a triumphant return to the skies above Canada with the launch of their latest direct service between the bustling London Heathrow Airport (LHR) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). The maiden voyage, Flight VS 147, took off from London at 18:02 local time on March 30, 2025, gracefully touching down at Toronto Airport at 20:42 local time.

Pilotcenter.net News is thrilled to share that the aviation icon, Sir Richard Branson, joined the inaugural flight, symbolizing the grand comeback of Virgin Atlantic to the Canadian skies. Having previously flown to Toronto in 2001 and Vancouver between 2012 and 2014, Virgin Atlantic is now back with a daily service connecting London and Toronto, operated on a top-of-the-line Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This new route aims to cater to over 165,000 passengers yearly, providing seamless and convenient travel experiences.

In a statement buzzing with excitement, Sir Richard Branson expressed, “Canada, we’ve missed you! It’s been more than a decade, but we’re back and here to do it properly. I’m delighted to see Virgin Atlantic’s return to Toronto, a city with so much spirit and energy. With our incredible crew, exceptional service, and a strong network of partners, we can’t wait to welcome customers onboard.”

Additionally, the new service promises enhanced connectivity within Canada through an expanded codeshare partnership with WestJet. This collaboration not only opens up exciting travel opportunities for Canadians exploring the UK but also facilitates seamless connections to key destinations in India with just a transit through London, where the average layover time is a mere hour and 20 minutes.

With 31 seats in Upper Class, 35 in Premium Economy, and 192 Economy seats, the daily flights offer a comfortable and stylish journey for passengers of all preferences. Virgin Atlantic is all set to make a mark in Canada once again, anticipating a record-breaking year ahead with esteemed personalities like Sir Richard Branson leading the way. Cheers to an exciting new chapter in transatlantic travel!
