Canadian airline WestJet has recently announced an exciting new partnership, broadening its reach in the international market. The airline has signed an interline agreement with Saudia, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia. This collaboration opens up a world of possibilities for WestJet passengers, offering them seamless connections to multiple destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as onward travel through Saudia's extensive network via their gateways in Jeddah and Riyadh.

Through WestJet's flights to London-Heathrow and Paris-Charles de Gaulle from Canada, travelers can now easily book onward connections with Saudia on a single itinerary under this new interline agreement. This means that travelers can enjoy convenient access to Jeddah from Toronto-Pearson Airport, as well as to Jeddah and Riyadh from London Heathrow and Paris Charles-de-Gaulle, providing them with a range of new routing options.

This partnership was formally sealed by Arved von zur Muehlen, Chief Commercial Officer at Saudia, and John Weatherill, Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer at WestJet. John Weatherill expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, “An interline partnership with Saudia marks a major step forward in expanding global connectivity for our guests. This agreement not only provides WestJet guests with seamless single-connection access to Saudia’s extensive global network but also strengthens inbound tourism and business links.”

Arved von zur Muehlen of Saudia also shared his thoughts, “We value the partnership with WestJet, it reflects Saudia’s commitment to offer our guests more destinations through key international gateways. Canada is now closer than ever, and we are also offering a seamless journey for travelers from Canada to explore Saudi Arabia and experience its unique culture, heritage, and hospitality.”

This new collaboration with Saudia is just one in a series of global partnerships that WestJet has been forging in 2025. Earlier this year, the airline announced a new interline agreement with SAS Scandinavian Airlines, as well as expanding existing agreements with partners such as Aeromexico, Air France-KLM, and Virgin Atlantic. Furthermore, in May 2025, WestJet’s owners, Onex Corporation, sold 25% of the airline to fellow SkyTeam members Delta Air Lines, Korean Air (KL), and Air France-KLM, a move that many analysts believe signals the airline's closer integration into the SkyTeam alliance.

As WestJet continues to strengthen its global connections and expand its reach, travelers can expect more convenient and diverse travel options, fostering stronger connections and collaborations across continents. The future looks promising for WestJet and its mission to provide enhanced travel experiences for passengers worldwide.
